“Fantastic company! Jack was honest, professional and extremely knowledgeable. He explained everything that was wrong in great detail. Will definitely be calling him for any future plumbing needs.”
Cornelius's Go-To Plumber for Fast Repairs
Most Cornelius properties have two plumbing systems: the one inside the house and the one outdoors running irrigation, a dock, a boat house or an outdoor shower. The outdoor one is where the water quietly disappears and where a cold snap does its damage, and it is the one nobody thinks to check until the bill arrives.
We work The Peninsula, Antiquity, Bailey's Glen, the Jetton Road area and the streets off Catawba Avenue.

Water going somewhere you cannot see
A high bill with nothing visible indoors almost always means irrigation, a dock supply, or a buried line. We isolate zone by zone and locate acoustically, so if anything has to be dug up it happens in one spot rather than as a search across a lawn.
Freeze damage
Lakeside plumbing takes the worst of a cold snap, and the damage usually only shows up when the tap is opened again in spring — often after weeks of water running somewhere it should not. Split hose bibs, cracked backflow assemblies and damaged dock lines are the three we see every year.
Hot water at the far end of a big house
On the larger Peninsula and waterfront homes, hot water that takes two minutes to arrive is a recirculation problem, not a heater problem. Either the loop was never installed, or the pump has failed — and it fails silently, so nobody notices for a year.
Second homes and seasonal properties
If a house sits empty for part of the year, a smart shutoff that closes the main automatically on an abnormal flow is the best-value thing you can fit. An empty house is where a burst line does the most damage, and that is exactly the failure it prevents.
What the housing here is like
A lake town. Waterfront and near-water property from the 1980s onward, a lot of it with irrigation, docks, boat houses and outdoor kitchens — a second plumbing system living outdoors through a Carolina winter.

“This company was recommended by a neighbor and I could not be more happy with the service they provided! When we realized we had a semi serious water heater problem, Open Water Plumbing was very responsive, not only with calls and text to help me ensure the problem did not get worse but also made it a priority to get to our home to repair the issue the next day. I would happily use them again, and the price was extremely reasonable! 5 star!”
“Jacek installed my outdoor built in kitchen, unclogged my toilet (my daughter flushed down a plastic bottle) and he finished a couple other small jobs for me. He was always on time. Very easy to work with. Even if you think something is not possible, better call him first, I am pretty sure he will find the solution.”
Cornelius plumbing questions
Our bill is high but we cannot find a leak. Where do you look?
Outdoors first, on a Cornelius property. Irrigation, dock supply and buried lines lose water silently. We isolate zones and locate acoustically, so digging happens in one place rather than everywhere.
Do you work on dock and boat house plumbing?
Yes — supply, outdoor showers and sinks, with the backflow protection required near the lake, and built so the whole run drains down from one accessible point before the first freeze.
It takes forever to get hot water at the far bathroom. Can that be fixed?
Usually. On a house that size it is the recirculation loop — either it was never fitted, or the pump has quietly failed. Both are fixable, and a retrofit does not always mean running new pipe through the house.
