Sewer Line Repair & Replacement for South Charlotte Homeowners
Sewage backing up into a shower is as bad as household plumbing gets, and it is almost never the fixture. Something between the house and the main has failed. Before anyone digs a trench across your yard we put a camera down the line and locate the defect to within a few feet.
What we find down there
Roots at a joint, a bellied run holding standing water, offset joints where the ground has moved, crushed clay or Orangeburg pipe in older properties, and — surprisingly often — a section damaged by someone else's trenching work.
Repair options
A single defect in an otherwise sound line is a spot repair: dig at the located point, cut out the failed section, replace it. A line that is failing along its length needs full replacement, and depending on the route and what is above it we will either open-cut or trench-less.
Trench-less costs more per foot but leaves your driveway, mature trees and hardscaping where they are. On a lot with a long run under a finished front yard it is often the cheaper total number once restoration is counted.

Sewer Line Repair & Replacement — questions we get asked
How do I know if my sewer line is the problem?
When more than one fixture backs up at once — the toilet gurgles when the washing machine drains, or a shower fills while a toilet flushes — the blockage is downstream of both, which means the main. A single slow fixture is usually just that fixture.
Will you have to dig up my whole yard?
Usually not. We camera and locate the defect first, so a spot repair means one hole in one place. Full replacements need more, but trench-less methods can often re-line or pull a new pipe through with just an entry and exit pit.
Who owns the sewer line — me or the city?
In almost every case the lateral from your house to the main in the street is the homeowner's responsibility, including the part under the public right-of-way. The utility owns the main itself. We will tell you which side of that line the fault is on before you spend anything.
