Toilet Repair & Installation for South Charlotte Homeowners

A running toilet is the quietest expensive problem in a house — a worn flapper can put hundreds of gallons a day down the drain without a sound you would notice. A rocking toilet is the loud one: every movement works the seal, and the damage happens to the subfloor where you cannot see it.

Repairs we do most

Flappers, fill valves, flush valves, supply lines, shutoffs that will not shut off, and wax rings. Most take under an hour and cost less than a month of the water a running toilet wastes.

Replacement

If the tank is cracked, the porcelain is chipped at the seal, or the toilet predates modern flush volumes, replacement is usually the better spend. We check the rough-in measurement before ordering so the new pan lands where the old one was, reset it on a fresh ring with new bolts, and shim it properly so it does not rock.

For remodels and accessibility, comfort-height and wall-hung units both change the framing or carrier requirements — worth talking through before the tile goes down rather than after.

Questions

Toilet Repair & Installation — questions we get asked

Why does my toilet keep running?

Nine times out of ten it is the flapper — the rubber seal at the bottom of the tank hardens with age and stops sealing. It is a cheap part and a quick job. If a new flapper does not fix it, the fill valve or the overflow height is the next suspect.

My toilet rocks slightly. Does that matter?

Yes. Every rock breaks the wax seal a little more, and the water that escapes goes into the subfloor, not onto the tile where you would see it. It is a small job now and a floor repair later.

Can you install a toilet I bought myself?

Absolutely. Just check the rough-in distance — from the wall to the centre of the drain bolts, usually 12 inches — before you buy, or send us a photo and we will check it for you.
